Fantasy Football Running Backs Week 2 Notes

  • David Johnson, the top Running Back on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is now out for 2-3 months requiring wrist surgery. Stay away from him and hope that some uneducated users slip him into their lineups without knowing the news.
  • The only difference in players between the two sites is at #10, with Demarco Murray on DK and Leonard Fournette on FD. Ironically, these two also play each other this week. The Jaguars showed that they aren’t afraid to run Fournette 20+ times, which should give him a better floor over Murray.
  • Kareem Hunt, the top Running Back in week 1, slots in at #7 on both sites. While the Philadelphia D should be tougher than New England, he’s definitely a good play if he can come close to his week 1 point total. Give him consideration if you don’t require a top 5 salary back.
  • On DraftKings, Ezekiel Elliott is a $900 drop off over Lesean McCoy and Le’Veon Bell above him. Though he has a tough matchup verses Denver, Elliott is nearly matchup proof and we think he is the best play out of the elite 3 now.
  • Looking for the best options not in the top 10? Mike Gillislee (@NO) and Dalvin Cook (@PIT) are #14 and #15 on FanDuel and #16 and #13 on DraftKings. Both have chances for huge days and chances to get into the endzone.
