Globe War 1: Trench Warfare
World conflict 1 was the extremely bloody war that swallows up the Europe from 1914-1919. " In late June 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated by a Serbian nationalist in Sarajevo, Bosnia that was one of many reason, which in turn rose the tension between Luxembourg and Serbia” (modern world history 410). But the 3 main reasons, which lead to World War 1, were: go up of nationalism, imperialism and militarism. According to design of discussion " Due to the huge loss of life's and lands German born officers offered order to drill down trenches in order to fight and gain area at the same time” (412). Through the First Community War the soldiers were required to endure various cruelties in the trenches to outlive and to battle against their enemy. Overdue in 1914 nations started out taking the accompanied by a the different nation to fight and gain the territories of other nation. Therefore two groups had been formed that have been central power (Germany, Austria-Hungary and ottoman empire) and allied power (Russia, France, Great Britain, Italia and later joined by the usa states). At the end of summer 1914 in Contemporary World Background Sir Edward Grey explained, " The lamps are going out all of the Europe” (411). During the Globe War one particular Germany decided to fight the war on two fronts, about western front the eastern front. Due to defeat of Germans, and loss of soldiers in lot Germans still left their plan and started digging the trenches. According to history1990s. com " the main reason for trenches was to defend the position and assault the foe at the same time”. Due the building of trenches the forwards moving tactics such as head-on infantry disorders were not anymore effective against modern guns like machine guns. According to record. com " early ditches were bit more than foxholes (4 or 5 feet vertically and 2 ft horizontally)”. While the stalemate continued, however , it became obvious that more intricate system was needed, and so they completed first key trench line November in 1914. In book named modern world history " by the end with the year that they stretched 475 miles of trenches, starting at the North Sea, jogging through Athens and upper France, and ending in the Swiss frontier” ( 413). All the ditches were developed according to the same basic design. In respect to firstworldwar. com " the front wall membrane of the trench, known as the parapet, was built of five feet large, lined with sandbags throughout, the front wall membrane also showcased two to three toes of sandbags stacked over ground level”. The sandbags helped to obscure a soldier's watch. " A ledge also known as the fire actions were also constructed into the lower part of ditches which allows a jewellry to step-up and see over the top through a peephole which is between sandbags at any time he was willing to fire his weapon” (history1990s. com). According to the British recommendations it took 400 men approximately 6 hours to burrow 275 yards of front line trench. According to modern world history " the ditches were dug in the boucle pattern so that if an foe entered the trench this individual could not open fire straight down the line” (413). But these ditches were such as a nightmare. As a result of rainfall every soldier need to face many problems, that make these trenches like a headache for soldier. Whenever rain fall occurs them of trenches get collapsed. Due to rainfall in publication modern world history it was being told that " ditches get overloaded as high as a man's stomach, rifles obtain jammed and soldier dropped victim for the much-dreaded " Trench Foot”(a painful current condition of the feet caused by long immersion in water)” (413). But Hefty rains are not sufficient to scrub away the filth and foul odor of human being waste and decaying depouille. Not only this detrimental condition written for the propagate of conditions, they also drawn an enemy despised simply by both sides, the lowly rats. Article upon site worldwar. com says " the multitudes of rats shared the trenches with troops and, more horrifying....
